 Trial Balance is a statement that lists all the ledger account balances and is prepared to check the mathematical accuracy of the accounts. It ensures that debits and credits are equal and that no errors have occurred while recording transactions in the accounting system. The basic idea behind a trial balance is that every transaction affects at least two accounts: one account gets debited, and another account gets credited. As a result, the sum of all the debit balances should equal the sum of all the credit balances.
